Synopsis
On Saturday the 20th August 2000 at approximately 2300 hours local time the fishing vessel "Fiona Patricia" collided with an unlit barge "Montgomery" at the southern entrance to Castletownbere Harbour. The vessel "Fiona Patricia" suffered significant damage along her starboard side, which necessitated repairs on the slipway at Castletownbere (See photograph at Appendix 8.1). There were no injuries.
