Synopsis:

On 28th December 2008 while stowing nets on a flying bridge at the aft end of the vessel Mr. Alvaro Paz Portas leaned or fell against the guardrail and toppled into the sea.  After numerous attempts to assist him and a delay of approximately 95 minutes, Mr. Portas' body was recovered from the water.  No vital signs were apparent and it was presumed that Mr. Portas was dead. 

 

Approximate location of the casualty was at Lat. 49o 14'N, Long. 11o 36'W in international waters.
